Fully automatic charger for Li-Ion battery. Charging from 1 to 4 cell.

Charger is built on a dedicated microcontroller MAX1737.Charger is designed at the request of BTO and is produced in Poland. To ensure proper charging needs the appropriate power supply is adequate for the number of cells and the corresponding output current. For a faultless working it is necessary to use a 10kW NTC thermistor connected between charger’s negative out and “thermistor out” on the charger’s board. The NTC have to be placed on the cell(s) surface.

The charging process:
It can be divided into two stages. In the first (CC) is a rechargeable battery which is the maximum current is set by the user. During this stage, lit yellow LED. After reaching max. specified voltage system goes into charging process (CV) and illuminates a green LED. Charging stops when the green LED goes out. The red LED indicates charging errors as exceeding the maximum temperature, time, or other transients. Due to the very high efficiency charger does not heat up even at maximum currents.

When charging Li-Ion batteries must be adhered to a few basic rules:

    Do not load "bare" links. Please be sure to use restraint systems PCB even single cells. Do not use safety systems in extreme cases can cause cell rupture and fire!
    When charging Li-Ion battery charging terminal voltage is a precision parameter. They should be set for a specific type of cell, according to the Datasheet cell!
    Usually the maximum charging current should not exceed 1C. Before setting current is necessary to check this parameter in the data sheet loaded cells and adjust the charging current to the manufacturer cells.
